27th Annual Candlelight Remembrance Service and Luminary Display

The staff of Greenlawn Memorial Park & Thompson Funeral Home at Greenlawn Memorial Park invite you to our 27th annual Candlelight Remembrance Service. Join us as we witness the beautiful transformation of the memorial park into a warm and glowing tribute to the memories of the family and friends who have passed before us.

    Saturday, December 2, 2017
    5:30 p.m.
The Candlelight Remembrance Service will be held in the chapel of the funeral home and the Luminary Display will be throughout the memorial park.

With assistance of community volunteers, over 3,000 luminaries will be placed throughout the park. The candles will be lit as dusk falls and the Candlelight Remembrance Service begins in the funeral home chapel. You are welcome to invite family members and friends to participate in this special time of remembrance and reflection.

As in the past, we will be creating a Remembrance Photo Memorial Tribute to be shown during the Remembrance Service. If you wish to have your loved one’s photo appear in this video memorial, please submit one (1) photo to the funeral home by November 27th. Photos can be picked up any time following the service and will be kept on file
    at Greenlawn if not retrieved.

Honoring Old Glory Flag Retirement Program

Our flag, like each of us, has a life span. It is exceedingly important that when an American flag becomes worn and tattered or is in such condition that it is no longer a fitting emblem for display, it should be decommissioned with solemnity and respect. Thompson Funeral Homes is pleased to partner with the Boy Scouts of America to retire American flags in a dignified way through the “Honoring Old Glory Flag Retirement Program.”

Community members who wish to donate their tattered, torn or faded American flag(s) to the "Honoring Old Glory" Flag Retirement Program can bring their flag(s) to any one of the Thompson Funeral Homes locations listed below. The flag(s) will be registered for the program and great care will be taken to ensure that “Old Glory” is decommissioned honorably.
